New Lane Report

Tell us about one shipment.

About ten minutes. Almost nothing here is compulsory. If you do not have a number to hand, skip it and we will ask you when we call.

What are you shipping?

Start with the cargo, because it drives the price, the paperwork and whether a forwarder will touch it at all.

Optional

The six digit customs classification for your product. It sets the duty at destination and often decides whether a permit is needed.

Most exporters paste it from a previous commercial invoice or a customs declaration.

Not sure? Leave it blank. We classify it for you and confirm before anything goes out.

Optional

Your own invoice value for the goods, not the freight. We ask for three reasons: it sets which price band your report falls into, it is the basis marine insurance is quoted on, and it tells us how much is actually at risk if the shipment goes wrong.

A rough figure is fine. Nobody expects it to the dollar.

Leave it blank and we will price the report after we speak.

Used to price your report. See the bands on the pricing page.

Where does it need to go?

Give us the factory and the final delivery address rather than the ports. The first and last legs are where quotes stop being comparable, and they are what exporters most often leave out.

Optional
Include dimensions if any single piece is out-of-gauge.

Where your responsibility ends and the buyer's begins. It decides who pays for which leg, who insures it, and who is on the hook if it is held at customs.

On a first shipment into an unfamiliar market, most exporters choose FOB or CFR so that the import formalities stay clearly with the buyer.

"Not decided yet" is a perfectly good answer. We will quote alternatives and tell you which we would pick.

Optional
Approximate is fine.

Why this lane, and why now?

This changes what we look for. Opening a market is a different question from checking whether you are being farmed on a route you already run.

Have you shipped this exact lane before?

Your report

Priced on the value of the cargo, because that is what is at stake. No subscription, no commitment, and nothing taken until we have accepted the lane.

Lane Report · one shipment $1,200 Cargo $50,000 to $250,000.
  • Eight forwarders approached on an identical brief
  • Three to five priced routing options, restated onto one basis
  • Documents and permits mapped, with who obtains each
  • Written recommendation, including what we would avoid
  • Thirty minute walkthrough call, and a follow-up at day 30

Our guarantee

If the report finds no option better than what you already have, we refund the fee and you keep the report. A benchmark that says you were right is still worth having.

Who are we working for?

Forwarders quote seriously for real companies. We verify you are one before we approach anybody, and your name never goes out with the brief unless you ask us to name you.

Optional
Optional

Whatever your country issues: a trade register number, a tax ID, a chamber of commerce number. It is what tells a forwarder you are a real exporter rather than someone fishing for rates.

Briefs that carry one get noticeably more responses than briefs that do not.

Skip it if you do not have it in front of you and we will pick it up on the call.

Your profile is saved

Company details, cargo profiles and packaging specifications are stored against your account, so the next lane takes about two minutes instead of ten. You brief the shipment, not the company, every time after this.

Check and send

This is what we work from. Anything marked "we will ask you" is fine to leave as it is, and it will be the first thing we cover on the call.

What happens next

We screen the lane today for sanctioned origins and dual-use questions. If it clears, the engine builds and scores the routings tonight, and an identical brief on each goes to specialist forwarders tomorrow morning with a stated deadline. You will have the report in five working days and we will book thirty minutes to walk you through it.

Brief received.

Nothing. We charge when we accept the lane.

You will get an email within one working day confirming we have taken the lane, or explaining why we cannot. Nothing goes to any forwarder before that.
